Ramadan Traditions in Makkah: Mantu

Actually, Mantu is eaten year round in the Makkah region but is an excellent addition to the Iftar table.     (Mantou (Chinese: 饅頭), often referred to as Chinese steamed bun, is a type of cloud-like steamed bread or bun popular in Northern China.[1] The name mantou is said to have originated from a tale about Zhuge Liang.[1])  The food in Makkah is very diverse due to the arrival of hajj pilgrims which have been arriving in the holy city for more than a thousand years.
